Cookie policy

Last updated: April 2026.

What this policy covers

This policy explains how LandlordSorted (this website and web app) uses cookies and similar technologies (including local storage and session storage where we mention them below). It should be read together with our Privacy policy.

Your consent

Under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), we need your informed consent before we store or access non-essential information on your device — for example, analytics that help us improve the product. When Google Analytics is enabled for our site, we show a banner on first visit so you can choose Reject (essential only) or Accept (including optional analytics). We do not load Google Analytics until you choose Accept. If analytics is disabled for a deployment, that banner may not appear; strictly necessary cookies or storage from providers such as Supabase or Vercel may still apply so the service can function.

Your choice is recorded in your browser under the key ls-cookie-consent in localStorage. We store a small JSON object with your decision (c: essential or all) and an ISO-8601 at timestamp when you last saved your choice (older saves may show only the plain value without a timestamp until you choose again). That is not an HTTP cookie, but it performs the same role for our client-side consent gate. Essential operation of the app may still use cookies or storage set by our auth or hosting providers where strictly necessary.

Change or withdraw consent

To change your mind later, use in the site footer (or here) to reopen the banner and choose Reject or Accept again. Alternatively, clear site data for landlordsorted.co.uk in your browser settings (or remove the ls-cookie-consent entry from localStorage) and refresh — the cookie banner will appear again. If you need help, email support@landlordsorted.co.uk.

Categories we use

Strictly necessary

Required for core functionality: for example session or authentication cookies from our auth provider when you sign in, security and load-balancing cookies from our hosting platform, and storage needed to keep you logged in or protect your account. These are not used for marketing and are not covered by the same consent rule as optional analytics, though you can still block them in your browser — parts of the app may not work if you do.

Analytics (optional)

If you choose Accept, we load Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) using Google's standard gtag.js snippet. The script file is served from www.googletagmanager.com as part of Google's normal GA4 setup; we do not use a separate Google Tag Manager container to fire unrelated marketing tags. Until you accept, our application does not request that JavaScript and does not call Google's analytics endpoints for measurement on your visit.

Google's disclosures: Google Privacy Policy, How Google uses cookies. To opt out of GA in the browser you can use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on (in addition to choosing Reject or Cookie settings on our site). We configure GA with IP anonymisation where supported by the snippet.

Third parties that may install or access cookies or similar technologies

Besides the consent-gated GA4 behaviour above, other providers may set cookies or use storage when their features run (for example after you open a payment page or sign in). See our Privacy policy for a fuller list of subprocessors. Quick links to their privacy and (where published) cookie information:
